Notice of Nomination Meeting
Simpcw First Nation By-Election
Notice is hereby given to the Electors (Voters) of the Simpcw First Nation.
There will be a meeting at the Chu Chua Community Hall on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 1-6pm for the purposes of nominating candidates for the position of On Reserve Councillor (TKwenem7i'ple7) of the Simpcw Band Council. A list of the eligible Electors is posted at the Simpcw First Nation Administration Office.
The by-election will be held at the Chu Chua Community Hall on Sunday, June 29th 2014, between the hours of 8am to 8pm. For those Electors that are unable to attend the by-election on this date, they will be able vote by means of mail-in-ballots. The deadline for those Electors living on Simpcw Reserve lands to request mail in ballots is May 23rd 2014. They may request mail-in-ballots by contacting the Electoral Officer at the contacts set out below.
Those Simpcw Electors that wish to be nominated for the position may review the Simpcw Custom Election Regulations which are available at the Simpcw First Nation Administration Office or on line at http://www.simpcw.com

It is important that persons who seek nomination must complete all documentation in accordance with Part IX of the Simpcw Election Regulations. Please contact the Electoral Officer for a package of Required Nomination Papers including the Security Clearance Authorization Form; It is also important to note that the RCMP Criminal Records Check must be received by the Electoral Officer before the end of the nomination meeting.
