NOTICE OF ENACTMENT OF BUSINESS LICENSING LAND LAW 2019-001
On 14 June 2019, the Council of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation enacted the Missisaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Business Licensing Land Law. The new land law sets out the businesses which are permitted to operate within Mississaugas of Scugog Island Reserve No. 34, creates the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Office of Business Licensing with a Director and Inspector, and sets out procedures for applying for a licence, deciding licence applications, and for the enforcement and appeals of business licensing decisions. Land Law 2019-001 will repeal and replace the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Business Licencing By-Law 101 when proclaimed in force.
