CHIPPEWAS OF GEORGINA ISLAND FIRST NATION
NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNUAL RATES AND EXPENDITURE LAWS AND COMMENT PERIOD
The Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation proposes to enact the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation Annual Expenditure Law, 2022 and the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation Annual Rates Law, 2022.
DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED LAWS: The proposed annual laws are an annual rates law and an annual expenditure law in accordance with s.10 of the First Nations Fiscal Management Act and the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation Property Taxation Law, 2018. The annual rates law sets the rates of tax to be applied to each assessment class for each tax district. The annual expenditure law establishes a budget for the expenditure of property tax revenues in each tax district. The proposed annual laws are available from the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation web site at www.georginaisland.com .
WRITTEN COMMENTS: The Council of the First Nation invites written comments regarding the proposed annual laws. If you wish to make written comments, your comments must be received by email or letter to the tax administrator at the address set out below on or before March 14, 2022. Council will consider all written comments received in accordance with this Notice before enacting the proposed annual laws.
