NOTICE IS GIVEN, pursuant to section 2 of the First Nations Tax Commission Financial Administration By-law Policy.

The Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation proposes to enact the Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation Financial Management By-law 2016, pursuant to section 83(1)(b),(c) and (g) of the Act.

DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED BY-LAW:  The proposed by-law is being enacted to provide financial management for the Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation and to enhance public confidence in the integrity of the Council, committees and staff by establishing clear roles and responsibilities in matters of financial administration and rules of conduct respecting conflict of interest; and ensure transparency and accountability by establishing regular financial reporting  and clearly outlining the members’ rights of access to financial records of the First Nation.

A COPY OF THE PROPOSED BY-LAW may be obtained from the Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation.

COUNCIL OF THE FIRST NATION INVITES WRITTEN REPRESENTATIONS regarding the proposed by-law.

Persons wishing to make written representation must deliver the document containing the representations to:  Chief and Council, Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation, PO Box 10, ALERT BAY, BC V0N 1A0.  Representations must be made on or before January 5, 2017 in order to ensure consideration by Council.  Council will consider all written representations received in accordance with this NOTICE.
